LABORATORY
The experiments in the laboratory are designed to impart the knowledge of different scientific concepts, methodology of finishing a simple job and all other essential factors to create an awareness of various simple work.
Keeping this in mind, SIASTM had prioritized setting up of state-of-art international standard laboratory, where students can avail facilities to conduct experiments wit samples.
The Institute has well equipped specialized laboratory units with sophisticated apparatus to carry out both fundamental and related experiment in the area of agricultural sciences.
SIASTM features a common instrumentation room, which is accessible to both faculty and students. Each department has adequate equipment / instruments, to do practical experiments in the respective discipline. Not only that, Institute has its very own Integrated farming & cropping field to carry out hands-on training and field experiments.
From time to time, the institute also organizes a visit to farmer's fields to identify nutrient deficiency symptoms in various crops and collect soil and plant samples for further laboratory experiments.
In the integrated laboratory, students can perform Horticulture, Post-harvest technology, Agronomy, Soil Testing, Entomology, Agricultural Botany, Plant pathology etc. practical classes.
Sophisticated instrumentation facilities available at the institute’s laboratory are the main strengths to carry out advanced experiments in several areas and provide proficiencies for students to grab adequate knowledge in current modernized biology techniques.
SIASTM contains a wide range of the latest laboratory and field-based testing equipment for use by students involved in agriculture testing for every step from seed to harvest. In the laboratory, students can perform the latest analytical testing on grain, fruit, soil, water, pesticide, and tissue culture.
